The company is in the process of certifying 10 high-quality hybrid sunflower varieties in collaboration with the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). Pilot tests for the adaptation trials were conducted on five selected sites, namely two at Assosa, one at Pawe, and two at Ginchi Research Centers. While the oil content of local sunflower varieties ranges from 28 - 33%, the genetic potential of the Serbian hybrids ranges between 45 - 51%.

Other than sunflower which is meant to supply one of our edible oil factories, rotational crops such as maize, wheat, soybean, and other field and vegetable crops shall be cultivated as well.

This establishment was made by making considerations of backward and forward integrations in such a way that the oil cakes found in the two edible oil factories will be the major inputs for the production of Animal feed by mixing it with other ingredients such as wheat bran, middling, molasses and other additives to cover the needs of our Animal Production needs to make them ready for our slaughterhouse. The plan has a capacity of producing 150 tons per day of Animal Feed with various formulas.

Kibran Farms has the vision to become one of the biggest suppliers of meat of diverse Specialty cuts into the world from the land of the abundant cattle population of Ethiopia. Currently, the company is planning to export chilled goat meat to Caracas and chilled sheep mutton to the Middle East. 

The meat we are planning to export is produced using our access to the traditionally reared-only grass feed Ethiopian goats and sheep.

In line with our backward integration program, this unit was established to secure a sustainable supply of cattle, sheep, and goats for the export abattoir. It is comprised of several ranches and fattening areas and complies with all international quality standards by fulfilling requirements for traceability and overall well-being of the animals.
